What's another fabric option for this? The Marcy Tilton jacket is terrific. I love the collar and can see it lots of different fabrics. Not sure about the Laroche jacket. It's interesting but kind of hard looking...not in a difficult to execute kind of way, but like the person wearing it would be in charge of a firing squad or something.

I'd love to make the Koos coat just for the adventure of it. So much to sew..so little time!

Anyway, this new batch of Vogue patterns is fun with lots to like. And yes....a hat! love the hats. Let's have a hat sew along!!

Thanks for posting this, Shams! I can't wait to see what you sew next. You're a true fashion muse.

Helen M.Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04785495876492830220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920875739028519515.post-23910739653511268732010-09-25T08:38:40.316-07:002010-09-25T08:38:40.316-07:00It's always interesting to read your review of...It's always interesting to read your review of Vogue patterns newest patterns. You have a more artistic take and pick patterns that I can see on you but totally wouldn't work in my world. I am however starting to think that I've fallen into some weird no man's land that Vogue no longer services. Again, nuthin exciting for me...nuthin to write home about!Carolyn (Diary of a Sewing Fanatic)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02204627216540667980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920875739028519515.post-40799299117720432152010-09-25T07:43:26.517-07:002010-09-25T07:43:26.517-07:00Yes, Betsy,I think it would work in leather. I would probably use pleather. ;)

I enjoy talking about this pattern because I'm still making my mind up about it.shamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06070023218199309005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920875739028519515.post-92154732945088629122010-09-25T05:32:46.300-07:002010-09-25T05:32:46.300-07:00And I think that Guy Laroche jacket would be fabul...And I think that Guy Laroche jacket would be fabulous in leather. I also like that Sandra Betzina coat, but I fear that on me, it would look like maternity wear.

Guy Laroche designs are always so interesting. Like you, I was thinking it would look better in something other than that shiny fabric.Bettyhttp://futurewardrobe.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920875739028519515.post-51807390057481254692010-09-25T01:29:06.879-07:002010-09-25T01:29:06.879-07:00I like that one too, Leslie. If she, a tall, thin, small busted, gorgeous woman, has to do that, then I would worry how it might translate to my (more robust) physique. ;)

But I do like it on her and imagine how snuggly it would be on a frosty winter morning (or a summer day in SF). :)shamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06070023218199309005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920875739028519515.post-23658108646947590412010-09-24T23:57:10.912-07:002010-09-24T23:57:10.912-07:00Thanks for the great review! But it would require a LOT of modifications for my figure and I doubt I would bother. I find that Sandra's patterns favor a pear figure.shamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06070023218199309005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920875739028519515.post-3405849797511324232010-09-24T21:54:53.025-07:002010-09-24T21:54:53.025-07:00What a great review of the new. But for some reason, that Sandra Betzina coat is calling to me... I can imagine it as a raincoat, it has a great shape to go over the style of pinafore I love to wear, but it would depend on *where* that underbust seam was located. If close to waist level - good; if close to bust level - scarey! (on me) Eventually I will stop buying coat patterns and actually make one.Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01994300004330705947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920875739028519515.post-13828642756227929512010-09-24T18:36:17.891-07:002010-09-24T18:36:17.891-07:00I have several of those in my wish list as well.
