Vogue 1309 - Issey Miyake
The spring Vogues were released this afternoon. Today is the last day of the 4-day Vogue, Butterick, and McCalls sale. If you want to buy any of the new Vogues at the sale price, you have a few more hours!
Here are a few I like. I am dashing this post off quickly, due to the timing, but I think you'll find my picks to be fairly predictable. For example, I like the Issey Miyake top shown above, but I don't think it would look good on me.
Love this Koos bag, Vogue 1311. So fun!
This Very Easy Vogue 8819 vest/jacket has interesting possibilities, especially sewn with a striped fabric.
This Marcy Tilton dress is very cute. I'm not much for dresses, but this one I really like. Vogue 8813.
This Katharine Tilton top has some nice variations. I especially like that some of the views are a twist on the princess seam.
Another interesting dress, this one from Sandra Betzina. Too bad I so rarely wear dresses. For this one, I'd add sleeves. Vogue 1297.
Here are Sandra Betzina's take on the harem pant. The very wide legged pant is pleated into a front yoke. The back is less full. You can leave the hem wide or sew them into a band. I like these. Vogue 1307.
Another great Marcy Tilton bag. Vogue 8823.
I'm not buying as many patterns these days, but I'm going to go make an order. Just 5 or 6 patterns. So long as I do it before the sale ends tonight. ;)
You horrible temptress!!!!! I love them all. The Sandra Betzina pants would look fab on you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! I've ordered the Miyake and the 8813...
ReplyDeleteI ordered the Miyake, the Marcy Tilton dress and bags, and a few others patterns. I am going to have to give away even more patterns now to make room for these. Vogue outdid itself this season.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks. I missed the sale, but it will come around again.
ReplyDeleteI saw them, I LOVE that striped cardi V8819. It reminds me of a cardigan I saw at Black house /White Market. I really should have bought it that day, but nooooo, I knew I could sew my own.
ReplyDeleteha! shams do you sew ALL of your own clothes now? I think I do. I didn't mean to, but now that's how I roll.
I'm kind of glad that I did my pattern shopping earlier in the week. Otherwise I would have bought 1301 (the Koos dress) and either never sewn it, or driven myself mental trying to do a FBA on a dress with 57 million front pieces!
ReplyDeleteOh, no! More lovely patterns to throw me off track! If only I could do nothing but sew!
ReplyDeleteI was stalking the website all day yesterday and just when I gave up another blogger posted that the patterns had gone up at the sale price. So I raced over and bought 5. I knew which ones I wanted because I'd been drooling over my Vogue Pattern Magazine which had arrived the night before!
ReplyDeleteWe're all sick, sick people. I was stalking the Vogue pattern website, too. I bought 3 patterns in a moment of rare self restratint: the issey miyake, Marcy Tilton's dress and Sandra B's dress. I loves the pocket action on those dresses and yes, I do loves me some new summer dresses, too! Gotta get sewing!
ReplyDeleteI agree, this selection is the best in a long time. I was at first put off because the newer patterns weren't included in the sale and then the day before they showed up. I'm in love with V1306! I absolutely love the lace on the seams. I didn't see Sandra's new pants, but they will be on my list for the next sale.
ReplyDeleteDrat! I missed it! I do love that Miyake top!
ReplyDeleteI bought 3 patterns--the Chado Ralph Rucci sarong skirt, the Claire Schaefer Chanel-style jacket, and the color-blocked VEVV.
ReplyDeleteShams, Marcy had her dress pattern made up at DOL this year, it's it fantastic! It's the kind of dress that's going to look good on lots of different body types - I think it would look smashing on you. And Katherine just had her new pattern at a workshop like two weeks ago - another winner. I'm so excited about this new batch of patterns - lots of great sewing - but ah, so little time!
