ACC Craft Fair 2013

Attending the ACC Craft Fair is becoming an annual tradition for me! What an inspiring event, with vendors from across the U.S. who make such beautiful items. Plus, people watching is also fun because creatives show up in force. I went with my friend Sue, and we had lunch at of my favorite nearby eateries, Greens.

But mostly the point of post is that I'm also participating in Visible Monday and Hat Attack! I discovered both of these via Margy, who is having a lot of fun with these blog participation events.

I originally blogged the Geisha duster when I made it in June. I am wearing my Trippens, which I call my German Geisha shoes. Despite walking and standing all day, these are as comfy as flat shoes. The hat is a bit hard to see, but is a cloche style with lots of sewn-in pleats. It was perfect for the chilly, foggy, San Francisco day!

You can't see, but I am also wearing my Style Arc Barb pants, which I am wearing soooo much! (I need to make more of these.) I am wearing a black pleated sleeveless shell that I purchased at a consignment store in Pacific Heights.

Sue, who is wearing one of her gorgeous hand made, nuno felted, eco dyed scarves. She sells these but hasn't got her website up yet. She will have a booth at Artistry in Fashion (on 9/28) again this year and will be selling both her hats and her scarves.

Lunch at Greens in Fort Mason

I have started another sewing project. Surprise, surprise, it's another coat. I am very busy this weekend, and this requires some hand sewing, so it may take me awhile to finish. (Do I need a coat intervention?)

  1. Coat intervention? Not yet, but we'll keep it in mind. One of the things I thought of when seeing these pics is if those who live where it's now over 100 degrees thought you might have taken these pics last winter.

Good luck at your booth. :)

    1. Yes, Gloria, it's quite chilly here in SF, especially in my microclimate. I often think my summer is more like an Australian winter and I relate to my Australian blogging sisters. ;)

    1. Thanks, Cherie! I looked at the label and the hat is made by Parkhurst, a Canadian company. DD1 purchased it at a local boutique last December and gave it to me for Christmas. I wear it a lot!

  6. Shams, this 'new you' is showing just how clever you are. Your outfit today shows such a clever use of colour - the shades flatter your skin beautifully. Very elegant and pared down lines with a hat as an accessory gives you such a stylish depth of character. Keep 'Coating-On' ...

  10. Sounds like our Aussie Winter may even be warmer today than it looks in SF! You should frame that beautiful photo at Greens, your coat and hat are wonderful and you are looking amazing! I'm with you on sewing coats and jackets, I have one in the pipeline and another on the drawing board, so sorry can't help in that department ;)

  23. You look lovely! And please sew as many coats as you want...because then I would have to stop making dresses. I think most sewists have a garment that they like to sew and excel at making - yours is coats and yours are beautiful!
