Attending the ACC Craft Fair is becoming an annual tradition for me! What an inspiring event, with vendors from across the U.S. who make such beautiful items. Plus, people watching is also fun because creatives show up in force. I went with my friend Sue, and we had lunch at of my favorite nearby eateries, Greens.
But mostly the point of post is that I'm also participating in Visible Monday and Hat Attack! I discovered both of these via Margy, who is having a lot of fun with these blog participation events.
I originally blogged the Geisha duster when I made it in June. I am wearing my Trippens, which I call my German Geisha shoes. Despite walking and standing all day, these are as comfy as flat shoes. The hat is a bit hard to see, but is a cloche style with lots of sewn-in pleats. It was perfect for the chilly, foggy, San Francisco day!
You can't see, but I am also wearing my Style Arc Barb pants, which I am wearing soooo much! (I need to make more of these.) I am wearing a black pleated sleeveless shell that I purchased at a consignment store in Pacific Heights.
I have started another sewing project. Surprise, surprise, it's another coat. I am very busy this weekend, and this requires some hand sewing, so it may take me awhile to finish. (Do I need a coat intervention?)
Coat intervention? Not yet, but we'll keep it in mind. One of the things I thought of when seeing these pics is if those who live where it's now over 100 degrees thought you might have taken these pics last winter.
ReplyDeleteGood luck at your booth. :)
Yes, Gloria, it's quite chilly here in SF, especially in my microclimate. I often think my summer is more like an Australian winter and I relate to my Australian blogging sisters. ;)
DeleteShams, how glorious you look! Slim, svelt, stylish!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol!
DeleteNo such thing as coat excess...that picture of you at Greens is my favorite photo of the "new" you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margy!
DeleteGreat look; here in the desert I long to wear clothes like these. Question; totally in love with your hat. Available somewhere?
ReplyDeleteCherie in Phoenix
Thanks, Cherie! I looked at the label and the hat is made by Parkhurst, a Canadian company. DD1 purchased it at a local boutique last December and gave it to me for Christmas. I wear it a lot!
DeleteThanks Shams! BTW, you look so lovely!

Your hat is so cute!! I bought a hat just for Hat Attack! but I'm a little behind in my bloggy stuff.
ReplyDeleteI want to see it, Robin!!
DeleteShams, this 'new you' is showing just how clever you are. Your outfit today shows such a clever use of colour - the shades flatter your skin beautifully. Very elegant and pared down lines with a hat as an accessory gives you such a stylish depth of character. Keep 'Coating-On' ...
ReplyDeleteThanks for that lovely compliment, Judith!
DeleteI like the whole ensemble.
ReplyDeletePopped in from Hat Attack #1.

Thanks, Tami!
DeleteBoth you and Sue look fabulous and arty at the same time. Look forward to seeing the new coat.
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous! Hat is so cute! DD did good with that gift to you!
ReplyDeleteYep, she did pretty well. :) Thanks, Linda!
DeleteSounds like our Aussie Winter may even be warmer today than it looks in SF! You should frame that beautiful photo at Greens, your coat and hat are wonderful and you are looking amazing! I'm with you on sewing coats and jackets, I have one in the pipeline and another on the drawing board, so sorry can't help in that department ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandra! We may be colder, but I think you get more rain. :) I look forward to seeing your coats and congrats, once again, on winning Marcy Tilton's dress contest!
Deletelol at the coat intervention! If you find a CA (coataholic) chapter, let me know! My coat closet has No. More. Room. And yet I just got Sandra B's duster patter and can't wait to make it! (thanks to your inspiration)
ReplyDeleteI used to attend ACC every year as well....I need to add it back to my repertoire - SO inspirational!
You look FABULOUS in your hat and duster! As does Sue. And lunch at Greens to top it off - perfect!
Thanks, Jillian! I can't wait to see your version of the duster - I know it will be wonderfully creative!
DeleteYour duster and hat are perfect together...you look stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteThankyou, Judi!
Deletethis shows how amazingly skinnly you are!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Moo-Producer! :)
DeleteMy philosophy is that a girl can never have too many coats especially when you live in a climate that gets cool and rains.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you look wonderful!!! :)
Yay, Rhonda! I'm glad you understand my obsession. :)
DeleteSo happy to have found your blog and clever, beautiful you. I recently learned about Trippen shoes. Where have I been to have not known about these beauties, which I am now lusting after. They look great on you, as does the cloche with sewn in pleats.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up to Hat Attack!
Thank you, Style Crone, for allowing me to join in the fun! Trippens are sooooo addictive. :)
DeleteAdore this coat! I am so into sewing blogs I can see the Tilton influence in this coat? Yes?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Unknown! This duster is a Sandra Betzina pattern.
DeleteYou look great in the geisha duster. Good to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Connie!
DeleteGreat photo in the geisha duster, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks, long-number-and-digit-name! :)
DeleteA craft fair followed by lunch at Greens sounds like a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteThe ACC craft fair is full of inspiration!
Deletelove the whole outfit
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marla, and welcome!
DeleteWhat a wonderful cloche! The whole outfit is really great and I appreciate you sharing it with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patti, and welcome!
DeleteHow cute you look...such a fun style and you look great in hats!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam! I have been buying up several hats in the last year and am finding that I really like them!
DeleteYou look adorable in your hat and duster!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janis!
DeleteYou look lovely! And please sew as many coats as you want...because then I would have to stop making dresses. I think most sewists have a garment that they like to sew and excel at making - yours is coats and yours are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Carolyn! I just may end up with a huge coat and jacket wardrobe. :)
DeleteI've loved the geisha duster since you first blogged about it! Looking at that post again, and comparing it to this one, it occurs to me you look younger every time you post! And very stylish.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, KC!
DeleteYou look fabulous (again!) in your new duds, Shams. Another coat? You're living in the perfect city to have a wardrobe of coats!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandra! Yes, I'm lucky that it's so chilly and foggy here, because I sure like making coats and jackets. ;)
DeleteLovely creation! And you wear it well. I'm very interested in Asian fusion elements ... of course I love this. You and your friend ... both looking wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jan, and welcome!
DeleteHi Shams! I just have to make a comment to tell you how good you look! The coat is amazing, like the hat. But you, are simply gorgeous in those photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Merche!
DeleteGlad you had a wonderful time, and it's nice to see you in that wonderful coat again! I've heard about visible Mondays before on other blogs. It's tempting to join in.. maybe one day :)
ReplyDeleteI love your Geisha duster, it's great!
ReplyDeleteI agree . . . I agree with everyone! I love the whole outfit and you look amazing in it. That photo of you sitting at Greens is phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteI really, really, really love this coat and hat!!
