Next Challenge

The next challenge has been posted, to whit:

Using the fabric we have selected for you, challenge yourself by making a unique garment and working with a material you may not have used before to create one well-made garment. You can use a pattern of your choice to construct your garment.

You will be judged on creativity, functionality, craftsmanship, and fit.

The fabric is a polyester chiffon in a panel print. We were each given the same two panels.

I just started sewing last night, so I am behind. I also have some "homework" this weekend that I have to do, so I need to get busy. No time to chat!

Enjoy your weekend!

  3. I ditto the yikes. I just make the Erickson Spiral Top muslin in a poly chiffon. It is a bear to work with. I used the gelatin tip to stabilize it for cutting and sewing without a lot of added benefit for the effort. Lisa from BABES

  15. Wishing you much strength of creativity and firmness of resolve with the new fabric... (I would be reaching for the homemade spray starch to tame it... but then slithery fabrics scare me) Sending good thoughts your way, looking forward to seeing and reading about what you do with this challenge

  17. I can't think of a single thing that I would make with that ... except as a decoration in my church with wording stenciled on top. It will be interesting to see what you and the other participants do with it.

  23. I'm waiting, too. I'm patient and I'm hoping that you are okay. It's like waiting for a friend to turn the final corner in a marathon---when will she appear? And how will she look? :)
