Are you ready for some silly?
No?
Then I advise you to STOP reading now.
I took some of the leftover fabric from the Dress->Skirt, and made some polka dot leggings!
(Hey, I like it when folks stare at my legs rather than higher up.)
I used my TNT Style Arc Laura Legging pattern, which I love! This is a very fast project.
I am wearing this with a purchased jacket, but I quite like to wear it as a dress! It has a great neckline.
I love to wear my wild leggings and my wild skirts. Just last week, I was sporting some wild leggings in the nap pod at work.
What?!?! You don't have a nap pod at work?
Maybe take it up with your management tomorrow.
I am working on a stealth project for April Fool's Day. I hope to have a report on that soon.
I'm also sharing with Patti's Visible Monday!
TOO CUTE! You took 1 meh dress and made a fabulous skirt and gorgeous leggings...I like your math!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margy! I was so happy to squeeze these leggings out of the leftovers!
DeleteOk...inquiring minds want to know...was napping in the pod really better than a good ol' nap on the sofa?
ReplyDeleteBoth work, Lisa. But a nap pod is more private. :D
DeleteFun leggings! Love the nap pod.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andrea!
DeleteSo you get to take a nap at work? During work hours? Sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteThe nap pods do get used, Vicki! You reserve one the same as you'd reserve any conference room.
DeleteCrazy leggings=Awesome! I love em!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathy!
DeleteI like the leggings so cool! I've heard about the Google nap pods, isn't that one of the things that attracts people to Google!?!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carolyn! I don't know if the nap pod attracts employees - I didn't know about them before starting there.
DeleteLove the leggings but I am dying over the boots. Are they born? Love them
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patti! "Are they born?" I'm not sure what you mean, though these boots are "vegan leather" so, in fact, they are not born. ;) They are made by "Wanted" and I wear them frequently. (I just noticed that the heels are starting to show a lot of wear.)
DeleteThe leggings sticking out of the pod made me think of the witch and Dorothy's house. (No insult intended!).
ReplyDeleteLOL! I had the same thought, Nancy!
DeleteYou do wear leggings well, and that jacket is awesome too... both the collar and the fabulous hemline. Keep having fun, your posts are always a treat :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandra!
DeleteLove the dots! I really must make some leggings for this coming winter (southern hemisphere) - currently I own a couple of pairs of very boring plain black RTW ones and I am inspired to try some patterns and bright colours - especially since they are quick to make and easy to wear! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, Jo! Make some wild leggings!
DeleteFirst of all I want to work at your place! Second, I love those leggings. Nothing silly about them!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gail!
DeleteLove your leggings! I just started selling exercise leggings and the wilder the print the more people love them :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so true, Ann! I would wear much wilder ones that these.
DeleteLove! Crazy print leggings are on my list to make. After seeing yours, they just made it to the top of the list. Way cute Shams
ReplyDeleteExcellent, Sharon! And thanks!
DeleteNap pods? What a wonderful de-stresser!
ReplyDeleteLove the leggings. Three garment lives from one piece of fabric, awesome!
Some days, in the afternoon, one just needs a little shut eye. And thanks!
DeleteHa, that was silly! You're so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly!
DeleteWhen I first scrolled through, I thought you were re-enacting a scene from the Wizard of Oz where the legs of the witch are sticking out from under the house. So sorry, but I did think it was a cute take on the movie ;)
ReplyDeleteLOLOL. A colleague did make a comment to that effect, Rhonda. Great minds!
DeleteAt least I don't feel quite so bad now :)
DeleteIt was the polka dot fabric's destiny to become leggings! Well done!!!
ReplyDeleteOne more thumbs up! I've been using Christine Jonson's legging pattern but think I might try this one, just for fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chuckles with your legs sticking out of that pod!
love the leggings! the skirt is great too - wonderful way to refashion the dress
ReplyDeleteLove the leggings! They are so YOU!!!! The pod is simply cool -- lucky folks who have access to such a thoughtful employee benefit!!! Appreciate your frequent sharing -- creativity, fun and excellent problem solving!
ReplyDeletePeople with great legs should wear crazy leggings always!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic look!!!! Love the pod too!! Thanks for sharing your joyful creations!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love the "crazy" leggings. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!
ReplyDeleteOMG I would *love* the nap pod! *love* that you reserve it like a conference room. One of my friends starts working there in June...must tell him about this!
ReplyDeleteFun leggings too!
I don't know Shams . . . Such bubbly and outgoing leggings on a shy wall flower like you?
ReplyDeleteThey are the coolest leggings.
ReplyDeleteI don't know which I want most...dotty leggings or a nap pod. And I really, really want a nap pod!
ReplyDeleteThose are great! I have a pair of black pants with white polka dots (RTW) and they make me so happy whenever I wear them. It looks like yours do the same! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI love them, shams!
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to try leggings! What other Style Arc patterns do you recommend for pants? I haven't tried any of their patterns.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary Helen! For a good basic pull-on stretch woven pant, I love the Linda. For a pull-on woven with a more tapered leg, I love the Barb. For a fun, summer, take-it-on-vacation pant, I love the Alexi. But my favorite favorite pant, that I wear ALL the time, is the Cassie. I made a version that is lined with flannel, and I fold it so that flannel shows at the hem - I wear this pant at least once a week.
DeleteThose leggings are truly crazy! Love them with almost anything. After all, it's not about the pattern. It's always about the fabric that makes a garment stand out from the rest. Thanks for the whimsy and reminding us to have fun.
ReplyDeleteI love those leggings! I think I need to head over to Style Arc and order that pattern. Our nap pod at work is called a stall. :)
ReplyDeleteDelightful tights project! Complete success!
ReplyDeleteAnd I really NEED a nap-pod!
