I am lacking the hat and pearls. :)
The poll is up! Please VOTE!
We received the instructions for our next challenge early yesterday and, let me tell you, this one is a doozy for me. I think it's the most challenging one yet. For me. I'll tell you why later. :)
I don't have any eye candy for you today, but here is a video I sent my daughter, the dancer. She thought it a hoot.
And no fears about my eating. I am back on the straight and narrow. Here is yesterday's kale smoothie (which is so thick that I eat it with a spoon). :)
Done!!! And I'll see what I can do ;)
ReplyDeleteDone.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I did a post and you can find it here, http://rhondabuss.blogspot.com/2013/10/fabric-mart-challenge.html
ReplyDeleteHope it's okay :)
I also did a link on my Facebook page as well as the sewing group page. I told you my guns were drawn!!!
DeleteAnd I just linked it to Pinterest. Good luck!!!!
DeleteThanks for your enthusiastic support, Rhonda. :)
DeleteThe video was a hoot. All I could think about was how dirty his slippers were getting! (And done.)
ReplyDeleteMe too. lol ( & done)
DeleteYou have my vote because, once again, you earned and deserved it!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that your kale smoothie from yesterday looks nearly identical to mine from yesterday, complete with the raspberry & sunflower topping! (Mine wasn't as thick though)
Lovely ! I voted for you
ReplyDeletedone! and I want to know how and what you put in that thick smoothie. I've not done many smoothies.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! It changes a bit every day and my smoothies require a heavy duty blender. I use a Vitamix. This one had: 1 cup water, 1" chunk of ginger (peeled), 1 Tblsp flax seed, 1 scoop Vega protein powder, a squirt of liquid stevia, frozen pineapple, an entire bunch of lacinto kale. And topped with fresh raspberries (I buy the cheapest berries) and raw sunflower seeds.
DeleteOh, and the juice and pulp from one lemon.
Deletethanks so much! I have a vitamix so I'm going to give it a whirl!
DeleteExcellent, though let me make a suggestion! My smoothies are pretty hard core. I would suggest you start with more frozen fruit and less greens and work your way up. :)
DeleteI second Shams suggestion. Kale smoothies take a bit of getting used to - thanks again for bringing it to a meeting so I could try.
DeleteAnd I voted, of course. - Heather
Adding to the smoothie convo - mine from yesterday had kale, chard, a banana, ice cubes, a nub of ginger, some turmeric, half an apple, juice from a lemon, a scoop of hemp protein powder, and a spoonful of The Best Almond Butter In The World (ThePhilosophersStoneground.com, if you're curious...) Yummy! And not as hard core as straight kale - I often mix chard or spinach with kale.
DeleteI just made today's smoothie and remembered two more things I added to yesterday's: a few dried, sliced mushrooms, and half an avocado.
DeleteI agree with Jillian, any model of Vitamix is good. I bought mine in 2006 when they didn't have the one with the smaller jar and I do like the big jar because I stuff mine full for my smoothie, though it is hard to fit under cabinets. Also, mine is white, but now they have fun colors, like red. :)
Thanks for the advice. I'll start with more fruit. I've had mine a year or so; it's red. fun red!
DeleteNot to hijack the thread entirely, but what Vitamix model would you recommend? Santa might need to know.
ReplyDeleteOh and voting, it's done. While I like some of the other entries, they don't hold a candle to yours.
My opinion on Vitamix = ANY Vitamix model! We have 2 in this house - my antique all stainless steel model, and a newer (but far from the latest) model. They're both awesome, although the newer model is definitely stronger.
DeleteI agree with Jillian, though I added my answer up above. :)
DeleteLove the video...don't you just wish you could dance through your day like that! ;-) Voting done!
ReplyDeleteMayday! Mayday! Shams, the only two names that showed on my screen as voting choices were Kathy and Audrey (even though all the contestants' entries, including yours, were shown as usual). I'm using a Google Chrome browser at the moment but will try Firefox to see if I have all the voting choices. Maybe the Obamacare tech wizards got hold of the contest web site??
ReplyDeleteOkay, me again. It worked properly on Firefox and I was able to vote for you, but it concerns me that things might be messed up when people are accessing the contest site through other browsers. P.S., that smoothie looks right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteDone! Once again, your combination of style and execution is tops.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful style, beautifully executed. I love your dress!
ReplyDeleteVoted! For you! Love your interpretation of a vintage look!!
ReplyDeleteI voted for you too Shams !I loved Audrey's dress too but yours was so special!
